Network Services

Remote Monitoring

Intelligent and responsive

Network or Remote Monitoring refers to Centracom’s ability to monitor your network and connectivity services from a centralised platform, to identify faults and outages experienced on services offered. In most circumstances, Centracom is provided access to the Premises Equipment (Routers or Switches), which we monitor to check for any link, voice or data usage issues that may crop up from time to time. This allows us the opportunity to monitor such links, log and track faults with the network provider on your behalf; giving you more time to attend to your business.

Benefits

Pro-active monitoring of services.

Fault logging and tracking on your behalf.

Central point of contact for multiple services from multiple suppliers.

MPLS

Custom solution design

Multi-Protocol Label Switching refers to how data is transferred and managed within Ethernet networks nowadays. Within such networks, specific data protocols such as Voice, Video and Real-Time Streaming are labelled in order of priority. Voice packets, as an example, will be treated with great care, and given the highest priority in order to ensure your VoIP telephone calls are not affected adversely. Apart from enabling a service provider to manage its network more effectively and efficiently, it offers a layer of security to business enterprises, utilising MPLS as a WAN solution, securely connecting multiple branch offices together. As Centracom acts as a Network Aggregator, we are able to effectively run secure MPLS networks for large corporates across multiple service providers, and function as a central port-of-call for the entire network running across different network providers and technologies.

Benefits

Add an additional layer of security to your WAN.

Extended WAN across multiple providers.

Central Point of contact.

Central Internet Breakout and Firewall for extended WAN.

    Feasibilities. Solution design.

Navigating the complexities of wireless can be daunting with line-of-sight and geographical path elevations making it nearly impossible to get a quick answer, and that is with just 1 provider. That’s where we come in. We can interrogate the majority of South Africa’s wireless providers and give a 95% accurate feasibility (tree’s and buildings not mapped) in seconds with Pindrop…

Licensed and Unlicensed wireless refers to how the wireless capacities and frequencies are managed and utilised within defined areas. Licensed means that the government issues a specified wireless spectrum to specific networks, which essentially means that each network has a specific frequency in which its network may operate in, without experiencing any interference from another network. You do however pay a substantial amount for this privilege, which increases the costs of operating such a network.

Unlicensed Spectrum means it is open for anyone to use. This means that any business could operate wireless equipment within this frequency range. When these businesses work together within specific areas, such services usually perform extremely well, but sometimes such open frequencies interfere with one another and impact on the performance and quality of such links. We aligned ourselves with the bigger operators who manage their networks and frequencies more effectively and responsibly.

    Licensed Benefits

Dedicated, symmetric or asymmetric wireless last mile.

Quick to deploy: usually deployed within 2-4 weeks (supplier dependent).

Offers the same security, performance and reliability as wired networks.

Scalability and flexibility with a quick upgrade path.

    Unlicensed Benefits

Cost-effective: the main benefit of an Unlicensed Spectrum is a reduction in cost, compared to Licensed.

Dedicated, symmetric or asymmetric wireless last mile.

Quick to deploy: usually deployed within 2-4 weeks (supplier dependent).

Offers the same security, performance and reliability as wired networks.

Scalability and flexibility with a quick upgrade path.

    LTE / Mobile Wireless

    3G, LTE & Fixed LTE

    Speed wherever you go

LTE or “Long Term Evolution” talks to the enhancement of our 3G Mobile Networks. LTE offers faster data transfer rates and a better user experience than the older 3G technologies, allowing small businesses to be more effective in their day to day operations. From a business perspective, the benefits of LTE include the quick and easy rollout of data enablement on a business’ premises, especially in areas where ADSL is either not available or adversely affected by cable theft.

        Feasibilities. Solution design.

DSL coverage in relation to distance from exchange’s is critical to an effective service This information is often not publicly available, causing customer’s frustration after a solution has been rolled out. Centracom handles these feasibilities on the fly when quoting via Pindrop in seconds…

High-performance connectivity is the foundation of every great business. It is the platform for all operations, communication and collaboration. ADSL will meet the most critical needs of any business. Our reliable network and quality of service make this an extremely attractive package. From basic Internet Access at your home to more stringent requirements at your office, ADSL has been around for a long time and has evolved as time passed. The acronym refers to an Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line which means that this digital link sends and receives data at different speeds. Upload speed on a normal ADSL line maxes out at 1Mbps vs the download speeds of up to 20Mbps, depending on the bandwidth chosen. ADSL is known as a Best Effort service and may be impacted by copper theft, so if you are looking to run Business Critical services via the Internet then ADSL might not necessarily be the best option.

VDSL (the new upgrade to ADSL) stands for Very-high-bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line which refers to the speeds now achievable across the same copper wires. The main difference between ADSL and VDSL is speed; with up to 3Mbps upload on VDSL. This increase in download speed allows one to watch Full HD streaming movies online and do business at a much faster pace. VDSL, however, remains a Best Effort service and may be impacted by copper theft, so if you are looking to run Business Critical services via the Internet, then VDSL might not necessarily be the best option. VDSL, however, is not available countrywide as yet.

        Benefits

Direct access to infrastructure map guaranteeing accuracy

Being quick to deploy, ADSL is widely known and available across the majority of South Africa.

Flexibility and dynamic access are provided by relatively stable connectivity for improved business productivity.

        Cost-effective high-speed connectivity.

        Uncapped & Unshaped.

        Connectivity

        About connectivity

        How we do it

Centracom offers connectivity through Diginet, DSL, Fibre, Fixed Wireless, Mobile Wireless and Network Services. Centracom aggregates its connectivity from multiple networks into its MPLS core, allowing it to offer cost-effective pricing through economies of scale, and to offer a massive infrastructure footprint, covering 98% of South Africa. Centracom has partnered with leading hardware and network providers to deliver an infrastructure solution that is first-class, resilient, secure, competitive, and most importantly promotes business growth.

        MPLS

We prioritise your traffic the way you want it.

Even though all data packets in the Centracom network are seen as important, some data packets are considered more vital than others; a Voice data packet is labelled as a VIP packet for example. This means it will be treated like a VIP by skipping any queues that may exist anywhere within our network. Think of it like this: your Voice call vs your Internet browsing – your Voice call has to take priority.

        Accuracy of feasibilities with Pindrop

Centracom utilizes Pindrop, a market leader in connectivity feasibilities, quoting and connectivity project management with over 20 connectivity providers mapped in to their database. This enables Centracom to instantly quote on DSL, Fibre, LTE and Wireless, giving Centracom one of the most complete voice and data offerings in South Africa.

          Feasibilities. Solution design.

Navigating the complexities of fibre can be daunting. Fibre infrastructure is being rolled out daily and the information on what fibre is where is vast and often not publicly available. Feasibilities takes weeks and solution designs are complex. That’s where we come in. We do all of this via Pindrop in seconds…

Our Business Fibre offering provides connectivity for true convergence of internet, data, voice and video networks via secure and dedicated circuits with minimum latency and optional full redundancy; which is just a very fancy way of saying it will help you do more business, faster! As our bandwidth is scalable in small increments, you won’t need to worry about the cost, making our fibre solution cost-effective to upgrade or downgrade.

A substantial number of Office Parks have been and are in the process of being “Fibred-up” by suppliers and independent Fibre companies. Fibre within such office parks is available based on an Open Access model, which means they can be accessed by multiple providers. Such office parks are listed as “In Precinct” which ultimately refers to the Fibre being within the boundaries of the office park or even within the buildings respectively. The major benefit in this regard is time. Delivery timelines are usually much shorter mostly due to the fact that no approval from local municipalities is required in order to trench and deliver such services to the end customer. Delivery timelines for Fibre “In Precinct” ranges from 4-12 weeks under most circumstances.

On-Net refers to a supplier being able to deliver Fibre to you as a customer across its own network and infrastructure within a specified or commercially feasible trenching distance. Even though a customer could be considered On-Net (within reach of a supplier’s infrastructure) the supplier must attain municipal approval first in order to trench along sidewalks, through or underneath sections of road infrastructure. As a result, delivery timelines for On-Net Fibre usually spans from 4-8 months.

Off-Net refers to a supplier not being able to reach the customer’s premises via its own infrastructure, but rather through the infrastructure of another supplier. Many Fibre and Network companies have commercial agreements in place to make use of one another’s infrastructure in order to enable one another to deliver services to their own respective customers.
